Alex Lozowski has undoubtedly turned more than a few heads since arriving at Saracens – and British & Irish Lion Owen Farrell can’t help but sing the praises of his new team-mate.

Despite arriving at the reigning Premiership and European champions Saracens as Farrell’s understudy, Lozowski was thrown right in at the deep end with the England ace suffering with a back injury.

But rather than flounder Lozowski has flourished and has looked like a part of the furniture at Saracens as they go in search of a third-straight Premiership title.

Lozowski’s form has seen him fast-tracked into Eddie Jones’ England squad, with the 23-year-old now in with a shout of making his international debut next month.

And while his inclusion in the England set up might have come as a surprise to some, Farrell wasn’t one of them.

“We need as many good players as possible. It’s great to have Alex here and I’m sure we can learn a fair bit off each other. I’m looking forward to getting to know him properly,” said Farrell speaking on behalf of the Aviva Community Fund.

“The new boys have slotted in very well. The guys that have come in have got to know everybody very quickly and got on with things.

“You could see by the way they slotted in against Worcester on the opening day, how much everybody has taken to them, and how much they’ve bought into what we do here.

“I’m sure it’s only going to get better as well.”

Farrell isn’t the only one of Lozowski’s new teammates to be impressed with their new recruit from Wasps, with fellow England man Jamie George adamant this is only the beginning for the fly-half.

“I think that was the thing I noticed most with the new signings – how quickly they bought into what we’re doing at Saracens,” said George. “They bought into the environment pretty much before they had even come here.

“Schalk is a fantastic character – he’s always desperate to help people along the way. Then you look at Sean who is a tremendously talented guy but has also settled in equally as well.

“It’s the same with Alex Lozowski – we saw against Worcester how talented he is.

“He’ll be the first one to tell you he’s looking to learn as much as he can here and he’s not the finished product yet but form where he’s starting at, it’s tremendously exciting.”
