LEWIS MACLEOD will have to wait for his Brentford debut after being ruled out of today’s clash against Rotherham at Griffin Park.

The Scotland U21 international arrived in West London on a £1m deal from Glasgow Rangers but picked up a knock in training and will miss the visit of the Millers.

However, boss Mark Warburton is boosted by the return of keeper David Button, Spurs loanee Alex Pritchard and midfielder Jonathan Douglas.

Alan McCormack hopes to be back next month after starting light training as he battles an ankle problem sustained in October, but Scott Hogan remains a long-term absentee.

Following a fine run of seven wins in eight matches, the Bees head into this fixture having lost their last three in all competitions, but they still occupy the last play-off position.

Rotherham, in 19th place, were promoted alongside Brentford and will hope to complete the paperwork to have Huddersfield duo Danny Ward and Adam Hammill available.

The Bees won the earlier meeting 2-0 at the New York Stadium in August - their first win in five meetings – while the Millers are unbeaten in their last four visits to Griffin Park.

Brentford have missed out on transfer target Marco Djuricin after the Sturm Graz striker opted to join Red Bull Salzburg.

The 27-year-old was in talks with the Bees over a possible deal but decided to stay in Austria with a view to breaking into the national team.

Mark Warburton is thought to have ended his interest in Watford defender Tommie Hoban.

The Bees failed with a loan move for the 20-year-old in November and are now thought to be exploring other options.

Warburton is also keen to send some of his fringe players out on loan to gain experience and keep match fit.

Striker Will Grigg is on a season-long loan at MK Dons, while Charlie Adams and Josh Clarke had a spell with Stevenage earlier this campaign.
