CHRIS Robshaw says it’s all systems go ahead of this weekend’s clash with Australia at Twickenham.

After losses to New Zealand and South Africa, England were desperate for a win against Samoa last weekend with a World Cup on home soil now less than a year away.

And, thankfully, Robshaw helped turn their fortunes around as Samoa visited Rugby HQ.

A Mike Brown score and two Jonny May tries – as well as 13 points from the boot of George Ford – enabled England to run out 28-9 winners.

It was far from perfect, with England’s youthful side once again wasting opportunities to add to their tally, not to mention tactical naivety at times.

But skipper Robshaw says getting a win on the board was the most important thing.

“We always knew it was going to take a lot of time to break them down, he said. It was a bit loose at times but, all in all, pretty positive.

“The Australia game is going to be huge. Over the last two years we’ve won one apiece and there has been only a couple of points between the sides.

“They’re on the back of two losses as well. They’re going to want to finish this season on a high.”

Despite England’s dismal run this year, captain Robshaw has been almost exempt from the criticism as he has led by example every time.

And the 28-year-old thanked his teammates for standing up to be counted when their backs were against the wall against Samoa.

“All the guys have been absolutely fantastic,” he added. “They’ve walked tall, they’ve been positive, they’ve trained extremely hard and smart and spoken in the right manner.

“There have been some tough truths at times but also talk on how we go forward.

“Mistakes will happen and it’s about how we react to it and keep our game going.”
