WITH maximum points and six tries from two Greene King IPA Championship games, you would think London Scottish’s Mark Bright is a happy man right now.

But the 35-year-old captain admits he will be able to rest easy only after revenge has been dished out on Bedford Blues this weekend.

London Scottish and Bright have started the new campaign like a freight train, sitting top of the table after picking up ten points with victories over Rotherham Titans and Cornish Pirates, with the skipper helping himself to hat-tricks in both games.

Next up at the Athletic Ground are Bedford, a club who find themselves at the other end of the spectrum having failed to pick up a point from their opening clashes.

“Although they are struggling they are always a dangerous side,” said Bright. “We know that from losing at their place at the start of the year.

“We didn’t play well in that game and let ourselves down, so we will want to put that right and beat them at our place, to carry on the momentum we have built up.”

Bright’s fast start to the season carries on from a summer to remember as he was called up to the England Sevens squad for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow by former London Scottish director of rugby, Simon Amor.

“The summer was amazing and even though we would have liked to have done better, it was still a great thing to be a part of,” he said.

“When you get to my age, you almost start to think your chance has gone so, when Simon called me up and asked me, I was delighted and jumped at it.”

Formed in 2009, the Greene King IPA Championship is the second tier of professional rugby union in England. To keep up-to-date with all the latest news, follow @ChampRugby on Twitter, or visit www.rfu.com/championship
