EALING Council has launched a competition for youngsters to come up with a name and logo for its new services to help young people get off drink and drugs.

KCA, Ealing Young Persons' Drug and Alcohol Services, has been set up to help 10-17 year-olds who want to stop their substance abuse, and give advice to their families and friends affected by the problems.

The winner of the competition, open to youngsters of 10 to 17, will receive £50 of shopping vouchers.

Jane Edwards, KCA Service Manager, said: "The importance of what we do may be as simple as providing an accurate piece of information that means a young person will be safer if they are around drugs and alcohol.

"We also offer face-to-face work and are developing outreach services so that young people know we are here to help them.

"Sometimes a young person just needs someone to talk to because a lot is going on and seeing us is the start of improving many aspects of their life, such as their education or relationships with friends and family."

The new service is in Churchfield Road, West Ealing, and can be contacted on 020 8810 1528 or ealingyps@kca.org.uk
