Boredom gets the boot with new pitches
 |
| Open: (l-r) Carol Garrido, Groundwork West London, Stephen Pound MP and Cllr John Popham |
BORED schoolchildren will have plenty to do this half-term after receiving a new football pitch.
Youngsters on the Gurnell Grove estate in Greenford have now got a new five-a-side football pitch thanks to Groundwork West London and £60,000 worth of funding from Ealing Council's Housing Department.
Stephen Pound, MP for Ealing North, officially opened the new pitch on Tuesday and believes it will be a great asset for the youngsters who had limited leisure opportunities in the past. He said: "It's an absolutely excellent facility and I was tempted to have a kickabout myself but I couldn't get on because so many kids were eager to get started."
