MORE than 70,000 people attended the second London Mela which was hailed as the most successful to date.
The biggest south Asian festival in the capital wowed the crowds at Gunnersbury Park, Popes Lane, Acton, on Sunday. The event was organised by Ealing Council.
Asian pop sensations the Rishi Rich Project, Jay Sean and Raghav played to thousands of screaming fans at the free event with classical artists Shri Hemant Chauhan, Ustad Chand Kadari and Afzal Chishti, who were flown over from Delhi in India especially for the event.
This year's mela included children's entertainment, a vast array of food stalls, mehndi demonstrations and sporting events.
