A pensioner was knocked over while she was crossing the road.

The 70-year-old was crossing Allendale Road at the junction with Sudbury Heights, Greenford, on July 22 at around 5.20pm when police say a vehicle reversed at speed and knocked her to the ground running over her leg.

Police say the car failed to stop and drove off at speed, heading towards Whitton Avenue West.

The car is described as a black Volkswagen Golf with two male occupants of Asian appearance.

The pensioner was taken to Northwick Park Hospital where she was treated for a fractured ankle. She was released on July 31.
