A GROUP of photographers opened a show capturing amateur sport in the area last night, featuring 90 shots of sports including athletics, trampolining, martial arts and Japanese archery.
It started as an idea of Ealing London Independent Photography (ELIP) member Ed Lee who, after communicating with Active Ealing, began taking photos of sportsmen and women in the borough.
Shelley Mackereth, 35, a photographer in the exhibition, said: "I see these as community photos and this was a community project. I met a lot of new people in sports clubs I would not usually go to.
"It is nice to have something to feel proud of. It shows the talent we have in the area not only in sport but also in photography."
ELIP formed two years ago and is a team of amateur, semi-professional and professional photographers.
The show is running in the Dominion Centre, The Green, Southall and will run until August 31, from 10am-6pm Monday to Friday and 10am-3pm on weekends. Admission is free.
