Racial conflict at Acton school
A 13-YEAR-OLD student from Acton High School has suffered racial bullying at school because he is Polish, according to his mother.
Monika Sowinska, 32, of Hill Drive, says her son is a good student and has done very well at the school but wants to move him because of on-going conflict between Polish and black students.
She said, through a translator: "My son had his phone stolen and his new jacket cut with a sharp knife on the back.
"A boy's hair was lit up on fire during one lunchtime in the playground. The ambulance had to come.
"I haven't reported anything to the police or school because I didn't want to escalate the action and my son asked me not to say anything because he was afraid.
"There are many Polish students in similar situations. My son is suffering less than some of the other students. There are worse, but I want to take him out before he gets hurt."
Mandy Golding, headteacher at Acton High, said: "Recently there have been some incidents of fighting between a small number of black and Polish students. Acton High has a good track record on promoting harmony between students and will not tolerate this behaviour.
"All incidents of fighting have been reported to the police and some pupils have been excluded and others temporarily excluded.
"In addition, conflict resolution experts have been brought into the school to help resolve problems and I have written to all parents to
inform them and seek their support."
Mrs Sowinska, a cleaner, moved to England in January last year and likes living in the country. Her husband, Araadiusz Sowinska, 34, a warehouse worker, has lived here for three years.
Although her son loves his teachers at Acton High, she wants to him to move schools but at the moment cannot find one with a space.
She said: "The Polish parents find it hard to speak to the school because their English is not as good as their childrens'. There is not enough communication between the school and the Polish parents.
"I have put my son on the waiting list for another school."
Kris Ruszczynski, chairman for Polish radio station, Hey Now, was translating for Mrs Sowinska. He said: "When Monika contacted me I had to do something about it. I was very angry. I have lived in this country for 25 years and never had any problems like it.
"I want to talk to all the communities to resolve this. We can't make divisions, we need intergration not segregation. I remember times when I had to change school. I was welcome, so I wonder why they have not been."
This is the second incident this year involving Acton High School, as teachers started patrolling outside the school, at the end of the day, following complaints from local residents and bus users.

How? By getting rid of the victims to another school and absolving themselves of all resposibilities rather than dealing with the perpetrators of the crime. Well done Acton High.

Isn't the root cause of this easy to figure out? One group of immigrants fighting another group o immigrants. Parents of aforementioned immigrants turn around and blame the school for not being able to communicate with them in a foreign language.

Black young people are not necessarily immigrants and polish kids are certainly not their only victims. British born kids of all racial types are being bullied and robbed all the time by aggressive black youths (male AND FEMALE) and everyone is powerless to do anything about it. It is a disgaceful indictment of our time that our young people have no-one they can trust to help or stick up for them. We are failing them dismally. Meanwhile there are gangs of black youths hanging about to get someone on their way to/from school everyday and no-one does enough to stop it.

It's not just the Polish kids the black youths (male and female) are bullying. All white kids seem to be targets for their bullying and robbery. A gang of blacks beat one boy unconscious and stabbed another twice in the legs and robbed another in Greenford a few days ago. They know they can get away with this. They seem 'untouchable' and the authorities seem unable or unwilling to take any decisive action to protect the innocent. They are growing up in fear.

Anti-polish Racism is endemic in some parts of Ealing. One only has to go to the Rose & Crown Pub in South Ealing and take a stool at the bar to be amongst anti-Polish racists who are loud and vociferous on the them... before terrorising local citizens by cycling back home drunk in the dark...

We need to address the issues as they stand and stop pin pointing races all the time. If we were in the North of England where the tables are a little different it would not be a case of "agressive BLACK YOUTHS" Being the ones doing the bullying and hurting, but they would be the victems in all this.
Seriously, EVERYWHERE has issues, minorities will always be minorities, we just need to teach integration, teach community cohesion, teach tolerance rather than the madness thats going around now. Lets get up and above this can we please

We could start by barring a very unpleasant group of men at the Rose and Crown Pub (even if they are all Masons and hence friends of the Fuller and Turner through this!
Racism and bigotry are intolerable and even the Masons should not be above the law.

We are not in the North of England are we!! Round here it is black youth that are doing the bullying in most cases. This is not 'pin-pointing races all the time' as you put it but a statistically borne out fact. British values of tolerance, respect and community cohesion have been taught in schools for years and most kids abide by this. Don't blame the victims. Condemn the bullies, whatever their race or colour!

Marsha Potters, minorities will not always be minorities. There's so much immigration and some immigrant groups have a far higher birth-rate than us (for example Muslims have three times as many children as white British people). Already there are suburbs where the "minorities" are a majority.

Marsha, you dingbat. Are you not afraid of black youths (and adults) every time you walk in Ealing Broadway? Every time you catch a bus? I am. And I'm a "bloody foreigner". Not that these black youths could tell - they just see the colour of my skin - which happens not to be black.
Am I afraid of Indians? No. Am I afraid of Orientals? No. Am I afraid of whites? No.
But I am in fear every time I pass any black person - will they verbally assault me? Will they physically assault me? Will they pick up their mobile phone and call their mates to bash me up? Why are they walking pit bull dogs around Ealing Broadway?
The racists are the ones who refuse to deal with the issue of black youths because they are black.
Facts are facts - it's time the racists who encourage this behaviour swallow their pride, admit there is a problem, and deal with it.

WOW, quite a few racists on this website and in the ealing borough then. I am actually disgusted. Christie you obviously have something against black people seeing as you love to pin point us in every article. There could be an article about the water system within the ealing borough being infected and you would probably try and say the black youth have something to do with it. You should be ashamed.

Wait a minute! Why the hell are only black youths being critised here! There not the only ones going around stabbing people. Most of them are WHITE YOUTHS who that stuff aswel so I beg you lot to get your facts straight...and i swear this article was posted to raise awarness in racism..not add more!...because that is what you lot are doing..being prejudice and basing people on stereotypes![bold]bold[/bold]
