THE owner of a dog which savagely attacked another pet in an Acton park is being hunted by police.
A 50-year-old woman was walking her dog in Springfield Gardens when she saw a young girl enter the park with a black dog, similar in appearance to a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, off the lead.
The black dog immediately went for the victim's pet, which suffered bite marks to the body. The owner also got a cut on her chin, and a 55-year-old man who tried to sperate the animals sustained a cut finger.
A black man with shoulder length black hair, aged between 30-40 finally got the black dog under control, and left the park with the animal and the girl who was walking it.
The attack comes just two weeks after the Ealing Times reported on dog walkers' appeals for council action to tackle owners who let their dogs run off the lead.
Council officers responded by getting park wardens to speak to owners of dogs, and putting up signs warning people it is an offence for a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place.
If found guilty of the attack the owner could face up to two years in prison and the dog could be destroyed.
