YOUNGSTERS across Ealing will be forced to pay adult fares on public transport unless they have a new pass.
Parents of children aged 11-13 are being urged by Transport for London (TfL) to fill out the application for the new Oyster photocard, which comes into effect on Sunday, June 1.
Any child without a valid pass will have to pay the full adult fare or risk a £20 fine if caught by ticket inspectors.
Steve Burton, who is in charge of policing and enforcement for TfL said: "Summer is almost here and it will be a time when young people, with free time on their hands, will want to travel around London.
"This is why we are urging those yet to apply to do so quickly. Even though the May 10 deadline has passed it is essential to apply if you do not want to miss out on free bus and tram travel.
"We will do our best to process these late applications; however, we now cannot guarantee any Zip Oyster photocard by June 1. But we still recommend you apply so that you can continue to enjoy free travel."
Forms for the free cards can be picked up from post office branches.
