Officers awarded for bravery

POLICE Officers and members of the public are being recognised for their bravery today.

Nearly 50 awards are being handed out at the Police Commendation Award Ceremony in Greenford this morning.

Recipients include two PCs who risked a baying mob to arrest a drug dealer, an off-duty officer who helped save the life of a boy after a hit-and-run crash and a civilian who caught a prolific thief on a bus.

Their stories of bravery will be featured in the Ealing Times this week.

The awards are being presented by Chief Superintendent Sultan Taylor,Ealing's borough commander, Councillor Jason Stacey the Leader of Ealing Council and newly elected deputy Mayor of London Richard Barnes AM.

The awards should be called
"Awards ofExcellance "

It is an encouragement and recognition of Police work. I am glad to approve and applaud the Men who were chosen . It should be a regular annual event
