VANDALS have caused more than £2,000 worth of damage to a police station in under a fortnight.

Greenford Police Station had eight panes of security glass broken in two separate attacks over the weekend.

The first attack saw six panes smashed with a brick between 10pm on Saturday night and 10am the next day. Between 6pm Sunday evening and 9am Monday two more panes were smashed by vandals.

The first attack took place between 5.30pm on Thursday, April 3, and 7.30am the next day, and two panes of the security glass were smashed with a brick. The total damage is valued at about £2,000.

CCTV around the station is being reviewed, and police are keeping an open mind to the motive.

Chris Mullally, a spokesman for Ealing Police, said: "This was an act of purely mindless vandalism and we are saddened that someone would go out to actively target the police station in a such a manner.

"We would ask anyone with information to come forward to help catch the people responsible."
