ONE of Sir Alan Sugar's former contestants on The Apprentice is following his entrepreneurial dreams by opening a tile shop in Ealing.
Ifti Chaudhri, who also appeared on Test the Nation last Monday, August 27, where he broke 15 roof tiles with his bare hands, opened Eclipse Tiles in Little Ealing Lane on Saturday.
He said: "I have a superstition where I do not like to look inside shops before I buy them.
"But when I got the keys for this shop it had holes in the floor and no electrics so I have spent the last five weeks getting it ready."
The 36-year-old, who left the second series of the Apprentice when his son became ill, started importing tiles five years ago after coming up with the idea on a visit to America.
The former policeman is confident he will have a chain of shops within a few years and is going to become a parent for the second time in October with wife Aleema.
He said: "I love Ealing and that's why I decided to open my first shop here. Trade has been really good so far so I might be needing to take on a few more staff soon."
