PUPILS from a Perivale primary school hit the skids after winning a graffiti competition.
The four youngsters from Perivale Primary School won a trip to the Metropolitan Police training school at Hendon where they had the chance to tear around a skidpan to see how emergency response drivers are trained.
The competition, run by Northolt and Greenford-Perivale Extended Schools Partnerships and Ealing Police, asked children to create graffiti prevention posters which will be used around the borough.
After the skidpan the winners were taken on a tour of the school and then attended an award ceremony to recognise their achievements.
St Raphael's Catholic Primary school in Northolt won a visit from the Metropolitan Police dogs unit for submitting the most entries to the competition.
Francene Leaversuch, Northolt Extended Schools Partnership co-ordinator, said: "This initiative gave local schools the opportunity to work alongside the police to address a very prominent local issue.
"It was great to see our communities pulling together to tackle local issues."
The four winners from Perivale Primary school were Kajal Pindoria, Xenia Shahab, Daras Narula and Nadia Akingbule, all aged ten.
