A FAMILY hosted a football match and charity day for the fifth year in a row at the Brentham Club, Pitshanger, on Sunday.
The Langley family began the tradition, to commemorate and continue the charity work of a close friend, Ian Boyes, who died seven years ago.
This year, Langley All Stars team took on the Brentham Club Veterans in a match to raise money for the Children’s Hope Foundation and Breast Cancer Research.
The football was followed by an afternoon of fun events, including a barbecue, cake sale and raffle.
A total of £800 was raised and it is hoped that more will come from the sale of two items that will be auctioned via Facebook.
Part of the money raised will be used to provide a white board for the special-needs school run by the Children’s Hope Foundation.
