RUNNERS keen to enter Ealing’s first-ever half marathon have the chance to find out more about the event at a free information evening next week.

Advice about training plans and the best way to prepare for the September 30 event will be available from Ealing Eagles Running Club, Bodyline Fitness and a nutrition expert.

Race director Kelvin Walker said: “A lot of people are training for their first half marathon and people might want to chat about how much training they need to do, or the type of things they should be eating.”

Visitors can also find out more about the work of the official race charity, Epilepsy Action.

Organisers of the race are looking for more volunteers to act as marshals around the 13.1 mile course.

“Marshalling is a very simple job that involves making sure people stick to the route. But it will play a crucial role in making sure everyone has a great day,” said volunteer co-ordinator Arlene Gallagher.

“If you don’t fancy running but want to join in the fun, our message is ‘Ealing Needs You’.”

The information evening will be held from 6pm on Thursday, June 28 and is being hosted by Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College at its Ealing campus at The Green.
