New children's centre opens in North Acton

NORTH ACTON is the home of Ealing’s 26th children’s centre, which officially opened its doors last week.

West Twyford Children’s Centre, which is attached to West Twyford Primary School, hosted a party for local families to celebrate the occasion, complete with face-painting, balloon modelling and arts and crafts.

The centre offers a range of services, such as a baby clinic, parenting classes, day care and stay-and-play sessions. There is also a breakfast club and after-school club for primary school aged children.

The leader of Ealing Council, Cllr Julian Bell, who officially opened the centre, said: “I am a passionate believer in children’s centres. They carry out fantastic work in helping children, especially those from a disadvantaged background, to achieve a better start in life.”

Another children’s centre will be opening this year at The Log Cabin in Northfields. Once this is up and running, every family in Ealing should have easy access to a children’s centre and the services it offers.
