A TREE to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27 is being planted to remember all those who lost their lives as a result of genocide.
The mayor, Cllr John Gallagher, and council leader Julian Bell will plant the tree outside Perceval House, Ealing, at 11am, followed by a minute’s silence.
The ceremony will be open to all members of the public.
Holocaust Memorial Day marks the 67th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.
Councillor Bell said: “Ealing is a vibrant and diverse borough with strong community cohesion and we will not tolerate persecution.
“Holocaust Memorial Day helps to ensure that these terrible atrocities are never forgotten.”
