POLICE are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information following a robbery outside a supermarket in West Ealing.
Officers were called at 10:30 on Tuesday to reports of a robbery taking place outside Sainsbury’s Local in Northfield Avenue.
Police understand that a male suspect with a knife threatened a cash-in-transit security guard, who had been outside the supermarket.
The robber stole a cash box from the guard and then ran off down Belsize Avenue.
He was wearing a scarf around his face but was described as mixed-race in appearance.
Det Con Neil Webb, of the Flying Squad, said: "We urge any one who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the suspect running down Belsize Avenue, or any vehicle which may have been driven suspiciously in the area."
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 0208 358 1751. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
