A MAN is facing at least 20 years in jail after blowing off a man's thumb during an argument in a Northolt back street.
Barbar Ali Shah, 36, from Forest Gate, appeared at the Old Bailey today and was handed an indeterminate prison sentence for the attack on two men in a Jeep Cherokee in Old Ruislip Road.
The trio had pulled over at about 10.20pm on Friday, July 25 2008 and started arguing, before Shah pulled out a gun and fired at both men.
One lost his thumb and had 50 shotgun pellets lodged in his body while the other lost both front teeth and had a four inch gash on his head. Both have since made a full recovery.
Detective Sergeant Chris Jones, of Operation Trident, said: "Shah is a dangerous individual who will now be spending the next 20 years behind bars.
“He will be almost 60 years old before he will be eligible to apply for release. I'm grateful that the gravity of this offence has been recognised by the court.”
Shah was found guilty of attempted murder, assault and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life after a trial which finished in December.
