EALING Rock Choir, the pop, gospel and Motown performance choir for adults, teenagers and children, is now signed to the world’s largest record company Universal with a multi album record deal. Universal is home to great artists like Lady Ga Ga, Take That and The Rolling Stones.
The first album features 1,000 members’ voices and reflects the power and spirit of Rock Choir. Members of Ealing Rock Choir, who come from all walks of life and rehearse on Tuesday evenings at St Mary's Polygon, St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's Road, Ealing from 8-9.30pm were astounded by the news and excited about all the forthcoming experiences that will be offered to them as part of the deal.
Singer and performer, Christina Dymtryk, who leads the Ealing Rock Choir said: “The members couldn’t believe it when I told them we had been offered a record deal by Universal. Rock Choir attracts individuals who in the main have not performed in public before. So being told they were going to sing on an album that is going to be released not only in the UK but also around the world was astounding.
They didn’t know how to react initially but moments later were screaming and cheering. At Rock Choir we don’t audition or make any demands on members that might lead them to feel embarrassed. We’ve had a huge response in this area and we only started last year. The weekly rehearsals are fun and up-beat and members tend to feel that it is their time out each week from their busy jobs or family life. I am welcoming new members all the time so just go online and book a free taster.”
Surrey-based singer and performer, Caroline Redman Lusher, the director and founder of Rock Choir, launched the concept in 2005 and is considered the pioneer of the contemporary choir which now offers thousands of people the feel good and dynamic results of singing in a unique choir like Rock Choir.
Opening hundreds of new choir locations nationwide this year, everyone will have the opportunity to join Rock Choir and experience the benefits themselves with no audition and no requirement to read music.
As well as a business woman and teacher, Caroline also features on the best-selling 'Soldiers’ album, ‘Coming Home’ singing the duet, ‘Against All Odds’ which is now at double platinum status.
Described as a “National Phenomenon” Rock Choir created a stir last year in the media world with regular features on Caroline, her business and the members in Rock Choir published in various magazines and National papers.
Caroline’s entrepreneurial style, her dynamic leadership and the huge popularity of Rock Choir led to an interview on the BBC breakfast show and live performance on the Paul O’Grady Show which resulted in the signing to label giants Universal.
Caroline Redman Lusher said: “Being offered a record deal is symbolic of the standard and reputation that Rock Choir has grown to in the UK. To offer the members the opportunity to experience being on an album that will be released worldwide is extraordinary.
“Rock Choir is a fairytale story in itself; my personal journey and the stories of the members who take part in it. The members are fantastic, from all walks of life and all generations, from age six through to teenagers and adults. I am so very proud of all of them and they are very loyal to the concept of Rock Choir. I began Rock Choir Ltd with the help of my father and soon realised that not only did it use all the skills I have developed over the years, it made a lot of people very happy and even changed lives."
