RESIDENTS in Ealing can now find out exactly how dangerous the streets around their homes are without leaving their front doors.

The Met Police have launched a new crime mapping website highlighting the number of robberies, burglaries and vehicle crimes committed in areas of the borough.

In July there were 77 more of these crimes committed across the whole borough than in June, with a total of 711.

It also shows the worst ward in the borough for crime is East Acton, with 57 of the offences committed in July, with one small area in the ward spanning a few streets around the A40 having 17 crimes in that time.

The site is currently under development by the police, and more crimes are expected to be added to the database in due course.

To check out your area visit maps.met.police.uk.
