WILDLY successful burger chain Honest Burgers opened another branch of their burger restaurant in Ealing Broadway last week.

Boasting a spacious and well-lit dining room, this company isn’t seeking to be revolutionary, but rather practise the fundamentals well.

Relaxed and friendly staff, an unobtrusive bar and bull horns adorning the wall above a view into the kitchen add to the half-American half-hipster feel.

The menu is simple, split into categories of chicken, beef or market vegetables, alongside the specials.

The limited choice makes choosing a meal swift, with all the key suspects of burger construction visible, including bacon, red onion, smoked cheese and much more.

While ketchup and mayonnaise is available on the tables, curry sauce, chipotle mayo, hot sauce and ketchup are all £1 a tub, a little cheeky when a run of the mill beef burger will already set you back £8.75.

The main attraction for Honest Burger is the rosemary chips.

These twice-cooked potatoes embody what a well-run burger joint should be. Not over complicated, but executed well, given a little bit of love and attention and addictively tasty.

A selection of cocktails are available as well as bottled beers, wines and the usual suspects in the soft drink category, a long with a few home-made additions including iced tea and lemonade.

The one area in which this restaurant falls short is dessert.

A limited selection of ice creams and sorbets were on offer, and when they arrived at the table, it was in a supermarket-style pot and tasted like it had come from there as well.

The milkshakes did make a positive impression however, yet like dessert, suffered from a dearth of choice.

All in all, despite the somewhat uncertain theme and lack of variety for sweet after-dinner treats, Honest Burgers serve a burger that will satisfy, impress, and hold itself together on the journey from plate to mouth.

The simplicity and finesse of the food is welcome, they haven’t reinvented the wheel at Honest Burgers, but they have put rosemary on the chips. And they're delicious.
