The annual Armed Forces Day parade took place outside Ealing Town Hall on Saturday.
Representatives from the British armed forces, veterans groups, the Gurkha army, Polish forces and various cadet units were stood proudly in front of members of the public.
The army band entertained parade-goers with music at the beginning, playing the national anthem at the closing of the ceremony.
Mayor of Ealing councillor Simon Woodroofe closed the speeches and said: “I want to thank members and former members of the armed forces today, particularly the band - how inspiring you are.
“It’s been a great time and a memorable occasion and we hope to do it again in the future.”
Alongside speeches of thanks, awards were handed out to some cadets from various forces, including St John’s Ambulances, and a book commemorating the history of the armed forces in Ealing was presented to the mayor.
Private Bashorun, of Southall, took part in the parade and said: “This is my second Armed Forces Day parade. I feel proud to take part, when you’re in uniform you feel proud.
“You are representing the British armed forces and what they stand for - all the people that have served and the people who will serve in the future.”
The parade closed off a week of celebrations that began with the raising of the flag outside the town hall last Monday and a celebration of the armed forces Reserves Day on Wednesday.
