Detectives from Ealing are releasing CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the brutal robbery of an elderly woman in her own home.

On 7 October 2015, at around 2.20pm, the 85-year-old partially blind victim, who is a great grandmother, was alone in her family home in Southall.

CCTV installed by the victim’s family shows her answering the door to two men, who push past her into her home.

She is thrown to the floor and the men then rip her jewellery from her fingers and ears.

They then dragged the victim along the floor into the living room where they intimated possession of a knife

They escaped after stealing around £300 in cash and a quantity of jewellery.

Ashan Ali, 22, of Commonwealth Avenue in Hayes, was arrested in November 2015 and is currently serving nine years imprisonment having plead guilty to this and a string of other robbery offences.

Despite extensive inquiries the other suspect has not been caught.

The suspect is described as an Asian male aged 18-25.

He was a Punjabi speaker and wore a scarf that partially covered his face.

He is around 6ft tall, of slim build with a large nose and sharp eyebrows.

Detective Constable Nicholas Strachan, of Ealing police, said: “This was a cowardly and wicked attack on a defenceless woman in the home she has lived in for more than 40 years.

We ask anyone who recognises the man wanted in connection with this incident to contact us.”
