Labour candidate Stephen Pound hopes for 'an end to seven years of misery' after securing an increased majority in Labour safe seat Ealing North.

Labour hold, majority 19,693 (+7,367)
Turnout: 70.46%. Up from 65.7% in 2015.
Mr Pound said: “I am feeling exhilarated, there is a huge job to be done and the Labour party has got to do that. Now is the time when we need to get our boots on and get out there and do it."
He added: “We’ve had enough, we’ve had seven years of misery, let’s have a little bit of hope the sun is going to come up in a couple of hours and I would like to see that sun come up across the whole of the United Kingdom.”
With 52,680 ballots cast, this represents a 4.76% turnout increase on 2015, and is the highest voter turnout since the 1990s.
This result continues a long tradition of Labour MPs in Ealing North, with a Conservative MP last representing the constituency 1992-97.
