An Ealing woman is taking part in a nationwide challenge aimed at improving her financial health.

Barbara Pitter, 51, from Ealing, is taking part in the project, run by free-for-life credit reporting service Noddle.

It aims to provide the practical tools to improve consumers’ financial well-being and help them work towards their financial goals.

“I have had to be frugal with my spending recently by cutting out treats for myself and my teenage son,” said Ms Pitter.

“It would be nice to be in more of a position to afford a little bit of luxury every now and then.”

The financial challenge has been timed to assist consumers over the coming months as they attempt to recover financially from the festive season.

As part of the financial challenge, Barbara, a part-time operations officer, will be learning new behaviours to enable her to manage money better on an ongoing basis.

Noddle has worked with behavioural economist Professor Ivo Vlaev to create the challenge.

Each participant has been through a screening process enabling Professor Vlaev and his team to tailor different financial models for them.

The models fall under three main categories: keeping track of finances, making ends meet and planning ahead – all with personalised participant challenges within them.
