SOUTHALL SPORTS CENTRE, operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Ealing Council, is holding a free activity morning from 9am-12 noon on Monday, January 30 to celebrate the launch of their new Over 50s programme.

Members and non-members from the community are invited to come along and try their hand at a range of different activities.

There will be badminton, table-tennis, dominoes, and cards, as well as free tea and coffee for all attendees adding to the welcoming and social atmosphere.

“We are delighted to be throwing open our doors for the free Over 50s Open Morning,” said Everyone Active general manager Laura Griffiths.

“Our classes for older adults are extremely popular, so we have decided to launch a full morning of activities to create more of a social community.

“We hope that the free taster sessions will encourage older adults to come and try something different, improve their health and fitness, as well as meeting others in their area in a friendly environment.”

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport, environment and leisure said: “It’s great that Southall Sports Centre is offering this free Open Morning with a full range of classes specially tailored for the over 50s.

“It’s never too late to try something new and I’m sure that the 50 plus programme will help give people the confidence to try their hand at a new sport or activity, helping them stay fit and active.”

The Over 50s activity morning will continue to run at Southall Sports Centre every Monday from 9am-12 noon following the free taster.
