This Sunday (8th January) Ealing Broadway will open its doors to host an exciting, entrepreneurial business fair designed to help students from four local schools sell products they’ve developed as part of the Young Enterprise Programme.

From 11am to 5pm the students will exhibit their inventions to local shoppers in Ealing Broadway’s Town Square, the heart of the shopping centre.

The mayor of Ealing, Dr Patricia Walker, will also be in attendance from 12:30 – 1:30 on Sunday.

The Young Enterprise Programme is the UK’s leading charity designed to harness business and personal skills among students beyond mainstream curriculum.

Ealing Times:

Local schools, Featherstone High School, St Augustine’s Priory, Ellen Wilkinson and J.F.S. have participated in the scheme and each created their own Young Enterprise company with a profitable business idea in mind.

The products, developed by the students, range from recycled denim garments to retractable headphones and mobile accessories.

Each company has seven to 15 students who have been tasked with selling their products to local Ealing shoppers.

Commenting on the hosting the fair, Andrew Rollings, centre director, said: “We’re proud to play a helping hand in showcasing the entrepreneurial talent of students in Ealing. These students have worked as a team, using their combined initiative to create their designs from scratch, which is fantastic to see.

“Supporting charities like this is a great way of championing the hard-work and ambition of many young students in the local area.

"What’s more, it gives shoppers the chance to experience, and hopefully purchase, the products developed on their doorstep. I’m sure this is just the beginning for these budding entrepreneurs.”

Jessica Lee, Young Enterprise Manager for Ealing, Hillingdon and Hounslow, said: “It’s great to see such strong support for local students taking part in the Young Enterprise Programme.

"As a charity, we rely on local communities, so we’re grateful to all at Ealing Broadway who have made the fair possible.

“This fair is a fantastic opportunity for our students to put everything they have been working on since September into practice.

"Hopefully this is just the beginning of an exciting, entrepreneurial journey for the students.”
