A CHARITY collection for Acton Homeless Concern is open at Access Self Storage Boston Manor until December 10.

Residents are asked to drop off new or un-used warm clothing for homeless people this Christmas.

All donations and gifts can be left at Access Self Storage in Boston Road.

Generous locals are challenged to beat last year’s national collection, which saw more than 500 gifts, including books, games and home-made creations given to charity.

Already, more than five full bags of clothing have been collected – an encouraging start which the store is keen to grow over the next two weeks.

Kim Breen of Acton Homeless Concern said: “It’s a great start to the Christmas season to hear that Access Self Storage Boston Manor has chosen us as their charity partner this year.

"Christmas is a very difficult time for anyone to be without a home and a loving family, so a simple gift of warm clothing from a friendly stranger can give new hope to people who really need it.”

Manager Kevin Hester said: “Our staff selected Acton Homeless Concern to receive donations from this year’s collection because we really believe in the great work they do.

“We’re on a mission to make Christmas 2016 the best year yet for the people in our community living without homes and dependent on the care of this charity.”

All donations may be left at the reception of Access Self Storage Boston Manor where they will be stored safely until they are delivered to Acton Homeless Concern after December 12.
