A SHIATSU practitioner in Ealing is offering the chance to experience oriental therapy in order to deal with stress leading up to Christmas.

Pascale Chaillet will be holding the 30-minute ‘Approach Christmas with Serenity’ sessions on Saturday, November 19 at the Ealing Green Practice

She mainly treats people with conditions such as depression, anxiety and insomnia, as well has holding a particularly strong interest in helping people with neurological disorders such as dementia.

“In a very stressful life you are very much living in your head and often taking pills to carry on,” she said.

“Shiatsu helps to reconnect mind and body. It can release physical, emotional and mental blockages that manifest in ways such as muscular skeletal imbalances, digestive or respiratory issues and stress-related illnesses.”

Originating in Japan, Shiatsu is performed through clothing, without the use of oils or needles. It focuses on helping the body to heal itself by using gentle pressure on acupuncture points, joint mobilisation and gentle stretches.

Ms Chaillet has also developed a workshop for managing stress, as well as classes for families and carers to be able to learn gentle touch techniques to comfort their loved ones.

She hopes that people will take advantage of the opportunity to relax, adding: “By indulging yourself with a 30-minute Shiatsu taster, you will feel relaxed with a refreshed and energised body. You will have a more serene mind so you can approach the festive season more peacefully.”

The sessions will take place between 2pm and 5:45pm. For further information, visit www.shiatsusociety.com.
