A CLANDESTINE Cake Club with the mission statement ‘Bake, Eat and Talk about Cake’ is taking the world by storm.

With Great British Bake Off fever at an all-time high households across the county are putting down the remote control and picking up their wooden spoons.

The Clandestine Cake Club meets in secret venues  across the globe and the mysterious venues are not revealed until the day of the meet up.

Each member must bring a home-made cake — but cupcakes, brownies, tarts and pies are strictly not allowed!

The club believes that slicing into a cake sparks interaction – which does not work when you pick up a brownie.

Lynn Hill, founder of the club, said: “My main purpose was to get people together over tea and cake.

“Five years later, that’s still exactly what we do.

“Piece of cake really!

“Everyone has the opportunity to display their baking and share and enjoy it with the club.”

Lynn’s venture has taken off stratospherically and now everyone around the globe wants a slice of the action.

There are now CCC clubs worldwide, from Barcelona to Okinawa to Auckland.

CCC clubs across south west London include Wandsworth, Putney, Surbiton, Sutton, Ruislip, Hillingdon, Croydon, Bromley and Chiswick.
