FITNESS fanatics rejoice as Everyone Active centres in Ealing are offering free classes on National Fitness Day.

Southall Sports Centre, Everyone Active Acton, Brent Valley Golf Course, Northolt Leisure Centre and Reynolds Sports Centre are hosting a number of free activities to celebrate National Fitness Day on Wednesday, September 7 — the largest celebration of physical activity in the UK.

The centres, which are operated by Everyone Active on behalf of Ealing Council, are aiming to encourage the community to get active by offering a busy timetable of classes and activities throughout the day.

Northolt Leisure Centre will be holding a triathlon consisting of a 500m row, a one-mile bike ride, and a 0.5mile run — as well as a variety of gym challenges.

Reynolds Sports Centre will be offering a free Pilates taster session for non-members from 6:30pm-7:30pm while Brent Valley Golf Course will be providing free personal training sessions to visitors.

Southall Sports Centre will be offering free small group training sessions, as well as a ladies core class and five-a-side football sessions from 4pm-6pm.

Visitors to Everyone Active Acton will be able to swim for free from 9am-3pm, as well as having the chance to participate in boxercise, body pump and small group training classes.

“We are excited to be throwing open our doors and welcoming local people to enjoy our fantastic facilities. From fitness classes to personal training sessions, we will be offering something for everyone, no matter your age or ability,” said Everyone Active contract manager James Bowden.

“We are passionate about encouraging people to get active, and we are hugely supportive of National Fitness Day.

“We are really looking forward to seeing people come down with their friends and family to join in the fun.”

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport, environment and leisure said: “If you’re thinking about getting fit and healthy, this is a really great way to try out all sorts of different activities.

“From football to boxercise, swimming and Pilates all available for free, you can bring the whole family and get involved.”
