AN Ealing law student has raised thousands of pounds for Help for Heroes by cycling the length of Britain.
Alex Szeresia, 20, of Ealing Common, arrived in John O’Groats yesterday after a gruelling ride of almost 1,000 miles from Lands End.
He completed the challenge in two weeks along with his 22-year-old cousin Sam Evans, from Wiltshire.
Together they have raised more than £10,000, which they are splitting between the military charity - which supports wounded, injured and sick people in or formerly in the armed forces - and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Mr Szerezia, who is also doing a law degree at The University of Exeter, said: “We did it! We’re feeling happy, but very tired.
“We really enjoyed the challenge, it was very tough on some of their routes; at the beginning the incline at Fowey was incredibly hard.
“We were lucky with the weather, apart from it poured all the way from Monmouth to Hereford. The Lake District and Scottish hills were also hard and some days were long, 85 miles on some consecutive days.
“But we were determined to make it - and we just have.”
