A NEW pricing structure has been introduced for resident parking permits in Ealing.

From Wednesday, July 1, the council will charge more for each additional permit registered to the same address.

The new charges apply to new purchases or renewals only. Existing permits remain valid until their renewal date.

As an example, two vehicles registered in an all-day zone will now cost £112.50 and four or more £172.50.

In a part day zone, the figures reduce to £82.50 and £142.50 respectively.

Cllr Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport, said: “Controlled parking zones are introduced in areas that are already experiencing significant parking problems, and when people register multiple vehicles to the same address it makes the situation worse by leaving less space for everyone.

“Many London boroughs are dealing with the same issue and have introduced similar pricing structures.

“I hope it will reduce the number of cars on our roads and also discourage people from registering several work vehicles to the same address.”
