A CLEAN-UP operation is underway in West Ealing as volunteers get behind InWestEaling’s initiative to tidy the town centre.

In a community-wide effort, InWestEaling is working with businesses, residents, recycling contractors and Ealing Council this week. It continues today (Friday) and tomorrow.

Equipment is provided for volunteers to undertake a range of tasks, such as washing telephone boxes and clearing drains.

Phil Hall, chair of InWestEaling, said: “This is a great opportunity to focus time and attention on West Ealing and for groups to come together to make a visible impact on our high street.

“I am calling on local businesses to join forces and help make this the success it deserves to be.”

Firms can throw away any unwanted items in skips provided as part of the free waste amnesty. Recycling is free and unlimited for electronic items.

Pavements are being jet-washed and waste bins cleaned.
