A SOUTHALL man has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin.

Satnam Singh, 41, of Marlborough Road, pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court.

Police were on patrol in Norwood Road, Southall, last autumn when they saw Singh in the car park.

He was wanted for failing to appear at West London Magistrates' Court in August for a separate matter. On seeing the officers, he ran off but was chased and detained.

While he was being taken out of the police van, a quantity of class A drugs were found between the cage door and the outer door. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

He was bailed while inquiries were made by Acton CID and eventually summonsed to appear at Ealing Magistrates' Court in December. The case was passed to Isleworth Crown Court where he pleaded guilty on May 11.

Det Con Michael Jones said: "This is a good result for the community of Ealing and I am pleased a drug dealer has been taken off the streets.”
