A NEW dementia champion and support group has been unveiled in Ealing to mark national Dementia Awareness Week, which runs until Sunday.
Ealing Dementia Action Alliance was unveiled by Cllr Hitesh Tailor, cabinet member for health and adult services.
Cllr Penny Jones, of Hobbayne ward, is the borough’s dementia champion and, with the help of the alliance, will encourage people to help those with dementia and their carers.
“In Ealing, around 2,700 people have dementia, of whom 1,800 live in the community,” said Cllr Tailor.
“The actions of one dementia friend can make a huge difference to a person living with dementia and we all need to play our part.”
