FUND-RAISERS from St Thomas Church in Hanwell are taking part in the 2015 Wrappers to Riches Collection, a national recycling contest to see who can save the most biscuit wrappers from landfill.

The church is asking people to help in its efforts and to win a share of £500 of charity prizes on offer (including a top prize of £125).

They earn double points for each biscuit wrapper they send in during the contest (4p rather than the normal 2p).

To date, St Thomas has raised £721 on TerraCycle’s recycling fund-raising schemes, which has been used to repair the church organ.

People can help by dropping off their used biscuit wrappers of any brand, plus the other types of waste they collect, like flexible instant coffee packaging and baby food pouches, in the collection box on the front porch of St Thomas Church, Boston Road, Hanwell, between 8am and 5pm seven days a week.
