A NEW information service has opened at Ealing Hospital to give people access to information and resources relating to cancer.
Located in the outpatients’ department, the new resource is funded by a grant from Macmillan Cancer Support.
It will be staffed by clinical nurse specialists and members of the Macmillan One-to-One Support Team during clinic hours.
Patients and members of the public will be able to speak to an expert face to face or be signposted to other appropriate support services in and around Ealing.
The area is stocked with leaflets from Macmillan Cancer Support, covering topics such as specific cancer types, treatment options and financial support available to people affected by cancer.
Deborah Ryan, Cancer Services Manager at Ealing Hospital, said: “Information will be available on the whole range of practical, emotional and financial issues that a cancer diagnosis can bring.”
The new service will be open Monday-Friday, 9am-noon and 2-4pm.
