NATIONAL GRID is inviting people to come and discuss the next steps for its former gasworks site in Southall.

A drop-in session will allow them to meet the project team and find out more about proposals to dismantle the large blue holder.

The session will be at the Dominion Centre and Library, 112 The Green, Southall, on Wednesday, December 10, 2-8pm.

Due to advances in gas storage, the holders are no longer required and have been decommissioned for several years.

Planning permission has been granted to dismantle the majority of them, and preparatory work began on site this month. Next in line is the big blue MAN holder.

Nadia Dew, Land Regeneration Manager at National Grid, said: “Our work to dismantle the gasholders is an important piece of the jigsaw in preparing the site for regeneration and bringing about significant benefits to Southall.

“The information session is a way for residents and those interested in our plans to find out more.”

Residents can get in touch with National Grid and sign up for updates on 0800 319 6186 or by e-mail on NationalGrid@SouthallGasholders.com
