KIND-HEARTED volunteers from a care home joined together to support Ealing’s homeless this winter.
A total of 22 staff and residents from Positive Community Care in Petts Hill, Northolt, prepared bedding and toiletries for distribution at Ealing Night Shelter’s event last Friday at Haven Green Baptist Church in Castlebar Road.
Positive Community Care, which provides residential care for people with physical and mental disabilities, recently partnered with Ealing Night Shelter, which offers shelter and meals in churches for people living on the streets.
Positive spokesperson Jodi Clarke said: “Volunteering to help the homeless is very important for our residents and staff as it gives us the opportunity to bring a little sunshine to someone's life.
“We understand it’s not much, but we know how cold it is in winter, especially at night, so we want to help those less fortunate.
“With both staff and residents volunteering, it creates good team work and also helps in strengthening the relationship between residents and staff.”
Ealing Night Shelter will run until March 2015 and the volunteers plan to offer their services throughout that time.
