YOU can make a Christmas wish come true for a child in care by buying a gift voucher as the Met Police launches its gift appeal in Ealing next Wednesday (19).
Chief Supt Paul Martin will switch on the lights of a tree outside Ealing police station as part of the wider MPS Commissioners Gift Appeal.
People are encouraged to pluck a tagged ribbon from the tree and then purchase a gift voucher for a child in care in the borough.
Chief Supt Martin said: “It is a worthy campaign, spreading a little Christmas cheer to those that may need a little more love than most."
Well-wishers are suggested to spend a maximum of £20, and the tag and gift should then be returned to Ealing, Acton or Southall police stations.
In last year’s appeal, more than 1,000 children benefited from the goodwill of Londoners.
Chief Supt Martin will be joined by Ealing police and staff for the switch-on at 7pm.
