HUNDREDS were raised for charity, with donations still coming in, when Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre hosted its own night of the living dead.

Fifty runners took part in Jog On 2k, a Halloween fun run, last night to support the Log Cabin, an Ealing charity that provides a safe play area for children with disabilities.

Volunteers dressed as zombies with ripped shirts, painted faces and haunted expressions and Westside Radio provided music and entertainment.

Runners, who were also encouraged to dress up, enjoyed a warm-up session with Virgin Active’s zombie Zumba class before running through the centre’s basement, where frights and thrills awaited at every corner.

Lucy Thomas, spokesperson for the shopping centre, said: "Thanks to the enthusiasm and support of the Ealing community, we've raised just under £300 for The Log Cabin so far.

"It’s money that will make a huge difference to a lot of people.”
