A TOTAL of 21 students from Dormers Wells High School in Southall, Greenford High School and Uxbridge College had the chance to visit the Crossrail fly-over site at Stockley Park, near Hayes, this week.
Network Rail is building the flyover to ensure maximum train capacity from London to Heathrow - and it proved a spectacular sight for the students.
As well as walking across the bridge, they were shown a video of how it was put in place.
The visit formed part of a three-day Budding Brunels programme, run by Construction Youth Trust, a charity aimed at informing and inspiring young people about career options in the industry.
The programme gives students a chance to gain first-hand knowledge of how the industry works as well as the opportunity to gain valuable work experience.
