A COMPETITION to encourage young people to produce ideas for developing the town centre has been launched by Central Ealing Neighbourhood Forum.

Anyone aged 16-25, who lives, works or studies in central Ealing, is invited to become involved in shaping the Neighbourhood Plan, by taking part in a day-long exercise.

Teams of five will be able to use a variety of methods to show how new ideas could be put into effect, to make it a better place for the future.

All the ideas will be put on display at the end of the competition on Sunday, October 12 at the Down Under Centre, 48 Haven Green, and will be voted on by the public over the following week. The winning teams will each receive a prize.

This innovative approach has been developed by Angela Koch, of Imagine Places, who has worked on similar projects with the Prince’s Foundation and other community groups.

“We are confident we will be able to entice between 30 and 40 young people to share their ideas and thoughts on the future of central Ealing,” said Angela.

“We hope there would be about 100 people joining us for the public exhibition.”
