RESIDENTS of a Southall care home were treated to a visit from a mobile zoo.
Owls, geese, ponies, goats and sheep were in the 50-strong menagerie that took over the large gardens of Grange Care Centre in Adrienne Avenue, off Ruislip Road.
Stephanie MacKenzie, of the home, said: “People of every age love animals - they touch everyone. Even residents who can’t communicate verbally had big smiles on their faces.”
Smaller creatures such as rabbits and owls were taken inside for less mobile residents to pet.
The home cares for more than 100 people aged 35-101, many of whom suffer from dementia.
Residents are in for a second treat soon with a coffee morning singalong, featuring saxophone player Roger, of Saxtracks.
The event is part of the Macmillan Coffee Morning, a national event which raised £20m last year.
All are welcome to attend the event, which will take place on Wednesday (September 24) at 10.30am. Guests are asked to donate £2, or bring along a cake.
