POLICE looking for missing schoolgirl Alice Gross have released a 51-year-old man who was being held on suspicion of her murder.
They have been given more time to question another man, aged 25, who was arrested in Ealing on Saturday afternoon.
Alice, 14, from Hanwell, was last seen near the Grand Union Canal at Brentford 11 days ago.
She had recently been diagnosed with anorexia, her mother said.
Police said the 51-year-old would face no further action following his release.
Officers have until Tuesday to question the other man, who was also arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police say the men had no connection to each other.
A spokesman said: "All lines of inquiry are still open and this remains a missing person investigation at this stage."
